Change or be changed
~ Nothing is forever except soul ~
Change is constant. It usually happens one of two ways, slow and steady or in a flash.
The changes that happen on a collective level happen slow and steady as evidenced by starting out a decade with a particular essence of culture and by the end of the decade the essence shifts into what the next will be. Sometimes the collective has an instant shift as in the case of a war, a mandatory lockdown or major attack on infrastructure.
The same is true for individuals seeking a change. It could be losing a mid-section roll, moving to a new location, changing career, a new romantic partner or changing any habit that isn't beneficial. Doesn't matter what the change is, some happen slow and steady, others in a flash.
Slow and steady usually is the formula when you choose to make a change. It doesn't mean it has to take years, but to change a situation does take decision, planning and time if we want the change to be permanent and successful. Results are the proof of the change.
When a quick change happens, usually it's because the change happened to us, it's out of our control. Like a death, or a car accident or a pink slip and finding out you need to polish up your resume. These types of changes are out of our control and tend to be uncomfortable because you want to believe you're in control of everything.
You can learn to be in control yourself.
You only control your reaction to things out of your control.
That's an incredible amount of potential responsibility and power for the person who really wants to understand this deeply.
Most people think they control themselves, however, culture, and other people have shaped who they are, how they think, feel, believe and behave.
To be in control of yourself is such an amazing aspect of being human which makes it odd how many people give that power away. It's also understandable because most people think they are in control of themselves.
Our world is changing rapidly and there's nothing we can do to change that fact which is shaping the collective choices to fit within the new world structure. We already see how the majority changed their lifestyle overnight when told there was a scary germ. There are many levels to that psychological simulation event we lived through, however, it was designed to create a society more dependent, addicted and comfortable with separating from people and living behind a black mirror screen.
Choices were made for people, although most would argue it was their choice to conform.
What we do personally during the global transition into a new world structure is completely our responsibility. It's not what happens to us, it's what are we going to do about it. I'm not advocating civil unrest, protesting or violence. During this global change is the best and most vital time to take a really good look at the changes we can't control and decide what changes we can/need to make.
Without fear. It's just change.
Personal experience
I have a trophy in making poor choices in the past and remaining stuck, wallowing in the reality of what I had created from those choices, and it was a grueling, long time before I made the decision to unstuck myself. I knew what to do, but I was stuck knowing where to start.
Here's ten basic steps that will help
1- Don't fight the current situation.
There's no point in fighting, you change by creating something new.
2- Acknowledge the truth, maybe past choices or regret, but don't get stuck there.
You can't change the past; however, you can change the meaning into a lesson.
3- Meditate
This as the best way to clear the mind if you have constant chatter or voices in your head. It's a foundation for learning if the voices are yours or an outside source.
4- Use your imagination
Go into the truth about what you really desire. You are going to leave your human skin suit one day (some call it death) so what are you waiting for?
5- Write it down on paper
Writing is spelling. When you write your goal down on paper, it becomes a grimoire where you are declaring with conviction it's done. (If done properly)
6- Plan it out
Write down one, two or three things you commit to do EVERY. SINGLE. DAY
7- Be realistic
You only have so many hours in the day so accommodate your schedule to a realistic plan of action.
8- Small victories
Recognize the small victories because there will be many and more importantly, recognize it's the inner world that's changing.
9- Setbacks
There will most likely be days that don't go as planned. There will be others where you feel like you can rule the world. On the days that have setbacks, pay attention to how you react. Keep going, the average person quits at the first setback.
10- It's all you
Nobody can do this for you. It's your responsibility to change the things you want and are in your control. This is why most people never take the initiative to change, preferring to play victim to circumstances.
From this moment forward, it's on you.
I just gave you a simple plan to start with just one thing.
DOING is creation and therefore spiritual.
11- This is an extra tip
It's okay to adjust the plan. I do this weekly, taking a look at where I am, and tweak when necessary.
~ Every step is a victory unless you quit ~
